Restaurante Mijas Playa raises six thousand euros for Cudeca
A cheque for 6000 euros was presented to Joan Hunt O.B.E., Cudeca´s Founder and President at a sell-out dinner in the restaurante Mijas Playa, La Cala de Mijas. Yet again, our friends there have come up trumps!
Over the festive season John, Jim and Gerry held a number of lunches and dinners with raffles and auctions in aid of Cudeca Hospice. Thanks to generosity of the customers, plus some gentle persuasion from John front of house, and host Steve Shappelle, the grand sum was collected.
Joan thanked the restaurant owners for their support as well as those who had bought raffle tickets and bid in the auctions. She also mentioned the public´s warm response to Cudeca’s appeal for financial support to keep their In-Patient Unit open.
The evening also gave the first opportunity to see and hear Los Divos, an Il Divo tribute group, the brainchild of Steve Shappelle who also sang at the event and was once again the compere for the evening.
